Vienna Way House by Marmol Radziner Associates

Located in Venice, California, the Vienna Way House was designed by Marmol Radziner Associates. The narrow plot of land meant the architects chose to divide it up in thirds, with the two main volumes pushed to the edges and a sunken kitchen and swimming pool in the middle. A single-level lower end houses living and dining areas, while the double-level northern end includes bedrooms and an office, as well as its own exterior courtyard. The kitchen connects the two ends and includes large glass windows that open up to the pool in the middle of the property and the surrounding yard, while the steel grey facade and warm timber furnishings perfectly complement the modern yet cozy residence.
