After a 20 year hiatus, Japanese camera maker Chinon introduces the Bellami HD-1, a handheld video camera reminiscent of its 8mm cousin that thrived in the ’70s. The retro-style body with a signature trigger handle is a stark contrast from the new camera’s modern capabilities. With a 2.1 megapixel sensor and ability to use a variety of modern and vintage lenses, this will be a solid competitor in the home movie-making market. The HD-1 comes in at $850 and is currently available in Japan. Stay tuned for details on a stateside release.
