We continue our report of Baselworld 2014 with two new models from Swiss watchmaker OMEGA. First up is the Speedmaster Apollo 11 45th Anniversary which commemorates the first lunar landing and celebrates its link to the iconic chronograph that was part of the adventure. Features include a black PVD dial produced using a special laser which creates the design elements on the watch’s face by removing the material surrounding the name, sub-dial numerals and hour markers. Limited to 1,969 pieces, the commemorative timepiece is fitted with the caliber 1861, a manual winding chronograph movement. The watch follows up last year’s Speedmaster Moonwatch “Dark Side of the Moon” and is presented alongside the Speedmaster Mark II.
Complementing the Speedmaster is the Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial. Originally introduced in 1957, the model makes a comeback in 2014, now equipped with the new self-winding Master Co-Axial calibre 8400. The watch will be is available with a stainless steel case and matching bracelet or with a bicolor blend of stainless steel and 18K OMEGA Sedna™ gold.
Look for all the Speedmaster Apollo 11 45th Anniversary to hit luxury retailers in June and the Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial to hit boutiques in November.
