Wirra Willa Pavilion by Matthew Woodward Architecture

Ever dreamt of your own little cabin by a lake? Well here’s one to blow your mind. Surrounded on all sides by floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the Wirra Wirra Pavilion in Somersby, Australia was designed by Matthew Woodward Architecture, and has been specifically built to allow anyone sitting inside to drink in the beauty of the surrounding landscape at all times. Comprised of a bedroom, bathroom and large open-plan living area, the pavilion juts out into the lake to give a sense of almost total immersion in the water. Meanwhile, in the center of the floor is a concealed plunge pool to allow indoor bathing, away from the baking heat during summer. At the other end of the calendar, as with any lakeside cabin, it has its own log fire – a perfect spot to sit back and enjoy a crisp glass of Australia’s finest.
