Casa P by Studio MK27

Brazilian architecture firm Studio MK27 presents another residence of their creation. Casa P is situated at the far side of the Pinheiros, which is the river that winds its way through the dense city of Sao Paulo. The house indulges in its outside space – a luxury in a metropolis like Sao Paulo – with communal areas that have direct access to the yard and swimming pool. The structure is based on the stacking of three exposed concrete boxes which all pivot around the same center point. The bedrooms on the second floor look out over the garden and have the benefit of access to the roof terrace. The top section of the house is enclosed in glass to make the most of the distant views of the city it offers, while the ground floor has a slatted wooden freijó wall, which not only acts as a screen from the bright sun but also provides constant cross ventilation.
