Where form meets function

WSJ Magazine names Iwan Baan “the most wanted photographer in architecture.” His larger-than-life shots matched with an incredibly intimate and humanistic approach to capturing structure have made him the go-to photographer in the game. The grace of Baan’s unique perspective has helped to put small projects on the map along with pushing major architects like Zaha Hadid and Steven Holl to stardom.

Baan finds himself in incredibly high demand, flying thousands of miles a year to locations around the world. Apparently, he’s known to keep wads of cash handy at all times — in case he can’t find a local ATM and needs to rent a helicopter ASAP. We selected a few of our favorites from his archive. See them above and learn more about Baan here.
