Here comes the latest camera from German premium camera maker Leica. The Leica T 701 might be the one camera from Leica that many have been waiting for. After the disappointing release of the Vario X last year, the T 701 mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses might just make up for it.
Leica talks about reduction when it comes to the T 701. Both in terms of design and functionality they present a new system that has everything you need, yet not too much either. The camera comes with a 16.5 megapixel APS-C sensor, button-less rear with a touchscreen display, built-in WiFi, HD video capability, an aluminum body, and of course, an interchangeable lens mount. Another interesting and somewhat unexpected move by Leica is the launch of an iOS app to go along with the camera, in order to make the transfer of images from camera to smartphone easier and you will also be able to use your smartphone as a remote for the camera.
The official announcement of the camera is later today, and then we should be able to give you some more information on launch and pricing. But a price above $2,000 can be expected, without lenses.
