Photographer Luke Stephenson gets to grips with the #UKIceCreamScene in his latest project entitled 99 99s. Currently in its Kickstarter phase, Stephenson, whose work has been featured in The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, Dazed & Confused and Wallpaper*, once again explores his home turf in search of the peculiarities and eccentricities that make up British life. Travelling the coastline over 25 days and 3,500 miles, he sampled the legendary 99, ninety-nine times (fluffy ice cream, lightweight cone and a chocolate flake for those not familiar,) describing “as I went from place to place I was fascinated by the human touches that make each 99 ice cream unique.” This seaside favourite complete with sauce, sprinkles, marshmallows and beyond, captured in all its glory alongside the highly-decorated ice cream vans and parlours that sell them.
