‘Obscura’ Magazine Examines the History of Sneakers

Hong Kong lifestyle magazine Obscura has just published an extensive look at their favorite classic sneaker brands, entitled “Influences.” While we’d ordinarily encourage you to get your footwear fix from us right here at Highsnob, this attractive 32-page feature is too good to pass up. Packed with original photography and focusing on early athletic sneaker culture, the piece examines everything from landmark shoe models to artistic box design, influential magazine features, logotypes and key cultural personalities – all of which played an important part in fostering founder Cheng Chi Lung’s love of sneakers in the ’60s and ’70s. Read it for free now over at the Obscura website.
