‘Relics of Technology’ by Jim Golden

There’s nothing more tedious than someone droning on about how hard it was to make toast or create a spreadsheet in “their day.” Technology moves on, we all get that; but the lure of nostalgia is inescapable, especially when it’s as attractively packaged as Jim Golden’s Relics of Technology. Across 15 images, Jim points the lens at various examples of obsolete consumer tech. From floppy disks to slide projectors, each piece is presented in a state similar to the equally obsolete educational TV broadcasts of the late ’70s and ’80s, helping to really crank that long-lost memory dial. See the full lot here, and before anyone asks, no we really don’t miss the VHS.
