Concept Cars of the 20th Century

Concept cars are like a playground where all a designers’ craziest ideas get to play with each other before being told to grow up and tone it down for the retail market. Sure, a car with 18-inch shocks that’s shaped like a doorstop might not be the most practical everyday vehicle, but sometimes it’s nice to pretend you live in a comic book, and at those times we recommend the new “Concept Cars of the 20th Century” exhibit at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art. From May 21 until September 7, the museum will be transformed into a garage of sorts for some of the most outlandish experiments in automobile design from the past 80+ years. Stop by, indulge your imagination, and then curse your boring hatchback all the way home. Details and tickets can all be found at the museum’s official website.
