Just ahead of his debut gallery exhibition, “G I R L,” Pharrell has landed on the cover of W magazine’s annual “Art” issue. While most of the cover story revolves around the GRAMMY Award-winning producer’s hit single “Happy” and the origins of his infamous Vivienne Westwood hat, Pharrell did go on to reveal the name of his highly anticipated collaboration with adidas. “I have a new clothing collaboration with adidas,” he nonchalantly tells W. “And it’s called adidas = Pharrell Williams. I know I can’t trademark the equal sign, and that’s fine with me because, you know what? It’s just… equal. The ‘Happy’ video is about equality; my music is about equality, and being associated with the idea of equal got me where I am now.” For more photos and to read the entire article head over to W magazine’s official website. The “Art” issue will be packaged with the publication’s June/July edition and will be available on select newsstands May 27.
