“Le Moynat Trunk Show” will be situated on the ground floor of Dover Street Market, New York. The installation is circular, echoing the shape of the ladybird-like macaron trunk of the heritage French luxury trunk maker. A springtime Parisian picnic setting is the inspiration for this nomadic boutique. From the bicycle trunk on display to a range of limited edition objects, Moynat has brought a signature set of items from the city of Paris to join the “beautiful chaos” of Dover Street Market. The two limited edition hand-painted tote bags shown here above are the highlights of the offering. From a trashy graffiti-inspired graphic to a more psychedelic apple graphic, that reminds us of the work of UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi, the limited edition bags look fantastic. The shop-in-shop is designed by Gwenael Nicolas, artistic director of Curiosity – an architectural and graphic design practice based in Tokyo. The “Le Moynat Trunk Show” is open at Dover Street Market New York now and will be there until June 22, 2014.
