Elly Jackson drops off the first single from her new album Trouble in Paradise after a five-year wait for fans – and seemingly without the help of Ben Langmaid who shared the group’s Grammy and co-wrote all but one of the songs on their first LP. While nothing has been formally announced regarding a breakup, Jackson has forged forward with “Let Me Down Gently” which was revealed last night on Zane Lowe’s BBC radio show, and contains signature synths and Jackson’s haunting and infectious vocals. Trouble in Paradise drops July 7 and is co-produced by Jackson and engineer Ian Sherwin.
