These two townhouses in Brighton, Australia were built for the owners who did not care for large gardens. Instead, they wanted spacious interiors and outdoor spaces that did not require maintenance. The living rooms and bedrooms are indeed widely open on a linear plan, making heavy use of natural light to visually enhance their size. Floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors provide ample opportunity for light to enter, as well as skylight openings that bring rays of sunlight to even the basement hallways. Both the exterior and interior are all white, brightening the townhouses even more. The structure’s standout feature is the circular staircase which goes through all three floors, free-standing and sculptural for that extra level of modern sophistication and design detail.
