Where form meets function

Jack Spade commission Richard Haines for a series of illustrations based on the “escape and adventure” theme from their Summer 2014 collection. Inspired by beat poet Jack Kerouac, Haines similarly road tripped across the United States and documented everything from the people he met to the sites he saw. The collection of drawings are entitled “The Long Road” and have an unfinished and rough aesthetic that emphasize Haines’ need to quickly record his observations. The sketches are being sold to the public at Jack Spade’s West Village store in New York starting tomorrow, June 13. The proceeds will benefit the CFDA. A small booklet of the illustrations will be given for free with a purchase.
