Maison Martin Margiela presented its Spring/Summer 2015 collection earlier today during Paris Fashion Week. The clothing is studious yet playful, reinterpreted & reworked. Trompe-l’oeil body suits cling like second skin, erasing the figure under the suit. Materials and volumes have been deconstructed then replaced. Trousers and jackets are cut into strips and reassembled; shirts are divided and reunited by zips. University jackets are ripped apart, interchanged and sewn back together, revealing mismatched fabrics. Highlighting the collection are oversized trousers and graphics, and airy trench coats that were cut from two parachutes.
