Following their success with Clarks in Jamaica, One Love Books release their latest book, Sound System Culture, celebrating the rich musical history of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Although, today, the English town appears to be an ordinary place, it was at one point the capital of reggae music in the north of England. Written by Paul Huxtable and edited and designed by Al Fingers as part of Mandy Samra’s sound system culture project, the book documents the subculture’s history from the initial migration of Jamaicans to the UK after World War II, to the pioneers and early adopters that solidified the sound’s presence in Europe. The book includes never before seen images and stories surrounding the rise of this UK sound system scene. Published by One Love Books, available from  Amazon.
