Back in June Renault revealed the body lines of their future sports car, and now they have revealed its name: Renault Sport R.S. 01. The only specs known at the moment is that the trophy car will be built around a carbon monocoque with power coming from a Nissan NISMO-sourced engine producing over 500 horsepower, connected to a seven-speed sequential gearbox from Sadev. The automaker has also said that it’s targeting a weight of around 2,435 pounds. The next important date is August 27 at the Moscow Motor Show, when Renault will divulge all there is to know about the spectacular vehicle, which is set to become the next star in the World Series. The 2015 World Series by Renault will kick off next April and will be completed in nine rounds, stay tuned for more information.
