The car itself will be on show at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California, so click here for more details. If you can’t make it that far, however, you can watch Jay Leno test drive one right here.
It’s safe to say almost any car bearing the McLaren badge will be something special (just check out this beauty). Then again for some, “special” isn’t quite enough; they want unique. Only 375 McLaren P1s will ever be made, and the vast majority of them are set to receive some kind of custom treatment. This particular example has been tricked out by the company’s McLaren Special Operations division, and features a gloss carbon fiber finish trimmed in McLaren’s signature orange detailing. The interior is entirely custom made, complete with a bespoke steering wheel, while under the bonnet 24-karat gold heat shielding has been added to the engine to really help push it to the limit.
