Soho House Opens in Chicago

Soho House is becoming more of an institution than just a hotel chain. Known worldwide for its locations that encompass a luxurious hotel with a members club, a gym, cinema, bars and restaurants, its outposts are desirable spots to hang out at. And now the company has just opened its latest branch in Chicago. This Soho House continues elements of some of the original hotels, featuring a Pizza East and a Chicken Shop restaurant, along with a lounge and cafe on the ground floor called “The Allis,” and of course the trademark rooftop pool. The biggest design challenge for Soho House Chicago was not its size or working with a building that dates back to 1907, but Chicago’s fluctuating climate. The heavy snow requires hard-wearing materials on the rooftop lounging area, which is no easy feat when you’re trying to accommodate a swimming pool. Visit the Soho House Chicago website for more information and to book a room.

For more impressive renovated hotels, take a look at Paris’s iconic Art Deco Molitor Hotel which reopened in May this year.
