Watch How the Creator of ‘Peanuts’ Drew Charlie Brown

Peanuts‘ beloved Charlie Brown has been a cultural icon for years, and with the comic’s recent slew of collaborations with everyone from BAPE, WTAPS and Vans, it looks like the yellow-shirted antihero is just as relevant as ever. In a clip from the documentary A Boy Named Charlie Brown, we get to see cartoonist Charles Schulz, of who Charlie Brown is based on, draw the character in one single shot. Although Schulz’s illustrative style is quite minimal, it is apparent that with each carefully placed pencil stroke, Charlie Brown’s true character comes out.
