Public School presented its new Fall 2015 collection today on the runway as part of New York Fashion Week. The label by Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow has gone from strength to strength these past few seasons. Having won numerous awards over the years, Public School recently also picked up the prestigious Woolmark Prize and hosted a presentation as part of London Fashion Week. For Fall 2015 the brand presented a strong offering inspired by the early ’90s New York club scene. Looks were made up of long and oversized layers. We especially liked the use of premium check fabrics, reminding us a little bit of the aesthetic of Japanese brand Number (N)ine. The knitwear and pattern making impressed us the most and compared to previous seasons, which we felt were at times kept a little bit too simple, the new collection was certainly a lot more expressive, while staying true to the brand’s look. Also Public School gave the audience a first look at their upcoming Jordan Brand collaboration – the new Public School x Air Jordan 10. The red color accents of the sneaker could also be found in the collection.
