After nearly two years in production, Back in Time – the documentary about the beloved ’80s sci-fi comedy franchise Back to the Future – is almost set to hit the film festival circuit. With 2015 marking the 30th anniversary of the series’ initial film, the documentary explores the cult phenomenon and lasting resonance of the trilogy through the eyes of cast and crew members – including Michael J. Fox, Christopher Llyod, and creators Bob Gale and Robert Zemecksi – as well as diehard fans of the franchise. Also featured in the film is the iconic DeLorean Time Machine, along with an in-depth commentary about how it was conceptualized and created.

With nearly $80,000 pledged out of a $50,000 goal, there’s still time to donate to the film’s Kickstarter campaign to ensure that it gets the distribution it deserves.
