Element have unveiled four premium backpacks for the fall season as part of their pioneering Camp Collection of high-quality rucksacks.
The Camp Collection's newly engineered backpacks are inspired by the work they do at their skate camps across the world, such as the Element and YMCA co-run skate camp held deep in the forests of central California’s Sequoia National Park, and which featured in their lookbook (below). Skating may be a city thing, but Element have taken their namesake to its natural conclusion, helping to communicate the natural world and its value to young skaters through these skate camps.

However, for the four premium backpacks, Element have gone a step further, partnering with Seattle outdoor specialists Industrial Alchemy on product design to create the "Daily," the "Weekender," the "Explorer" and the "Convertible." While on the revenue side, a percentage of each of these backpack's sale continues to be invested straight back into the skate camps, as with all backpacks in the Camp Collection.
The four premium rucksacks themselves are pretty solid. Industrial Alchemy’s Jesse Thompson has helped lead design, creating a series of sturdy bags ideal for both urban exploring and off-the-beaten-track adventures in nature (with or without a skateboard). There’s numerous storage points; supportive, concealable waist belts; easy-to-reach iPad pockets; all nestling up close thanks to compression belts and straps – all designed for maximum practicality. Industrial Alchemy have also engineered garments for the military and professional services, which goes someway in explaining the each of the rucksack's sturdy, statement-making presence. Besides, what’s the point in having a small backpack anyway?
