Turning the cufflink into a thing of engineered beauty, we’ve kept an eye on UK-based “Alice Made This” for a few years now, the brainchild of Alice Walsh, a former designer at Tom Dixon and Conran. Branching out beyond shirt adornment, the new “Geometry” collection sees Walsh turn her hand to belts. Creating brass, steel and copper buckles using precise techniques, each piece is milled and turned from a solid block of metal and then matched with leather from a Midlands tannery, shades of black, grey, yellow, tan and blue your choices. Primary shapes follow geometric forms; alongside the core line of belts – bracelets, cuffs, keychains and pins reflect an interest in “architectural silhouettes and the graphic line.” Pre-order the range from next week online.
