Whether it’s your old man’s watch, a vintage set of baseball cards or that amazing thrift store cop, we hit our influencer rolodex for our new series: GRAILS. What’s the story?

For the latest installment of our GRAILS series we looked no further than Joey Lo – Senior Business Manager of BAPE Hong Kong, Head of HK BAPE Group and Founder of Grocery Store. Joey’s been collecting some of his sacred items since he was a kid, and as expected, there’s numerous BAPE pieces that he holds close to his heart.

From his Astroboy collection to limited edition Be@rbricks, check out Lo’s GRAILS below.

Air Jordan 1s
“The 2001 “Bred” retro was my very first AJ1 actually, other recent favorites include the Chicago & fragment versions from last year. I think the “Royal Blue” will complete the collection if I can get hold of them.”

Astroboy
“Started collecting Astroboy since I was a kid, especially the more limited releases such as KAWS, Hot Toys & Medicom Toy; and of course other items such as books and accessories too. I’m still looking for the tin versions from the ’70s though, which are pretty rare even in Asian cities like Hong Kong.”

Be@rbrick & A Bathing Ape
“These items will always be my top grails, having worked with BAPE for a few years now. Especially the older BAPE items (Pen & Stamp) you can see here, which were only available to family & friends. I just love the Japanese culture from the ’90s.”

Watches
“These are my very first Rolex and Omega watches, as well as a Casio DW-5000. They’re not expensive in terms of value but they are all from my family and best friends throughout the years, and for important moments in my life, therefore I treasure them a lot.”
