It looks like superhero movies really are a worldwide phenomenon as we're treated to a trailer for Guardians, Russia's entry into capitalizing on the unparalleled success of the Marvel and DC Comics franchises.

The trailer features pretty much the exact premise of any superhero film, including genetically mutated men and women with unearthly powers who have to band together to destroy a seemingly unstoppable supernatural force. Perhaps the most interesting albeit ridiculous moment in the trailer comes at the end, when a half-man half-bear comes in to save the day. Russian bears have been used to represent the massive around the world for centuries and it looks like the film will involve a heavy amount of allusions to the Soviet Union.

Enjoy the crazy trailer above and look for the film to release on February 23, 2017 in Russia. No word yet on when or if the film will see an international release, but in the meantime you can check out the trailer for the director's previous effort, which is an adaptation of the card game Mafia.
