It appears that Daniel Craig is so over playing James Bond that he has rejected a $100 million mega contract to return as the English secret agent.
The Daily Mail said producers at Sony Pictures Entertainment offered Craig the eye-watering sum for two more films, which would be roughly twice what he earned for the first four. It's said that Craig's chronic knee pain, which stems from an injury that happened while filming a Spectre fight scene, was the negating factor.
Craig's four-film-successful stint sees him tie with Pierce Brosnan, but Roger Moore and Sean Connery each played the role seven times.
As the search begins to find a new 007, recent reports have suggested actors Tom Hiddlestone, Tom Hardy and Idris Elba were all being sounded-out by Sony to replace Craig. It appears Sony wanted to keep their man for at least two more films, but today's news will force their hand to name a successor.
