Any regular Snapchat user will have noticed that the app assigns emojis to the contacts you exchange pictures with the most. The emojis displayed in the chat window will change over time, depending on how you interact with your friends.
Snapchat chooses a preset of emojis for every user, however you can also customize which images are displayed beside your friends by going to your camera, clicking the Snapchat ghost icon, then the settings cog in the top right corner, and finally "Manage" and "Friend Emojis."
From flame emojis to hearts, below we explain the meaning behind every emoji.
