From the ground up

A lot has happened during the past 100 years: World War 2, the Great Depression, man landing on the moon, and Justin Bieber deleting his Instagram account. While the world may now be changed irrevocably, Finnish athletics brand Karhu has remained one of the constants throughout, and now they’re celebrating their centennial milestone by teaming up with London footwear store Footpatrol on the Karhu x Footpatrol Fusion 2.0.

The Fusion 2.0 is a modern rework of Karhu’s Fusion runner, which first enjoyed its heyday back in 1996. The sneaker takes inspiration from Finland’s passion for outdoor activities and recreational sports such as hiking, skiing and, with winter on the horizon, comes in an appropriate earthy colorway. On the upper, premium pigskin suede is contrasted with perforated nubuck panels, and features 3M reflective details along with hiking-inspired lace loops.

The Karhu x Footpatrol Fusion 2.0 is released in store and online at Footpatrol on October 29.

In other sneaker news, Sunspel x Walsh have teamed up for this handcrafted sneaker.
