Highsnobiety

Scotch & Soda explored far and wide for Fall/Winter ’16, keeping Amsterdam at the heart of everything as a place to collect, curate and consolidate all their worldly influences. The Chinoiserie Velvet Bomber is one piece resulting from this search, its pattern inspired by traditional Chinese motifs.

The floral embroidery is the jacket's centerpiece and such an ornate design—alongside the velvet material and gold colored zippers—requires toning down. Minimalist black jeans from the latest Amsterdam Blauw collection, T-shirt and boots are the answer, as picked by the man in front of the lens, Mo Anwar.

Mo is one of Scotch & Soda's trusted "Misguiders" and a Contributing Editor at Vogue Arabia and Vogue Man. He features in The Misguiding Guide of Amsterdam which celebrates the brand's beloved home city and shares its hidden gems as selected by the misguiders. We chose him to style the bomber for his connection to the city's culture and fashion scene. Exploring the city's Southern districts, we captured the creative in his territory as he told us personal stories of the city.

Inspired by wanderers, this season's collection references tales from Floen by the Sea, Norway; Buckie Town, Scotland; Saga Mountain, Western Tibet; and Tinkitam Forest, South-Sikkim. The result is boldly colored and patterned with rich hues, fair isles and tartans; key fabrics include tweed, wool, satin, velvet and silk. Scotch & Soda focused on winter-ready knits and outerwear supported by varsity jackets, luxe sweatpants, dress shirts and seasonal accessories.
