Barack Obama has appeared on The Daily Show for the final time as President of the United States, taking part in a slightly more somber and serious political conversation with host Trevor Noah than we've seen previously on the show.
The conversation flowed on subjects ranging from Russia's impact on the 2016 election and the incoming Trump administration, to the future of Obamacare and modern-day racism. The highlight of the discussion, though, was Obama ever-so-slightly slamming The Donald.
In reply to Noah's request for the President to comment on Trump's recent declaration that he doesn’t accept daily intelligence briefings because he’s a “smart” guy, Obama said: “I think the president-elect may say one thing and do another when he’s here because the truth of the matter is, it’s a big complicated world."
He added, "It doesn’t matter how smart you are, you have to have the best information possible to make the best decisions possible, and that means talking to people from the U.S.’ intelligence agencies. If you’re not getting their perspective — their detailed perspective — then you are flying blind.” Burn.
