The Avalanches surprised the world with the release of Wildflower over the summer, their long-awaited sophomore album that took 16 years to release. But it seems that we may not have to wait another decade or two for the followup, as they have just shared a new track with Freddie Gibbs titled "Bad Day." Check it out below via SoundCloud.

And if hearing Gibbs rap lines like "For breakfast we were cookin' cocaine" over a deliciously smooth Avalanches beat isn't enough to get your heart rate up, then the fact that this is but the first taste of new music from the Australian sampling wizards just might. The band mentioned in their initial post that the shared version of "Bad Day" is just a rough cut and that we can also expect a further edition to feature De La Soul's Posdnous.

This track is also notable for being one of Freddie Gibbs's first releases after being acquitted for charges of assault. The rapper was held on bail in Austria for some time during the year and emerged only recently by dropping a song titled "All Day." Listen to that track right here.

Watch The Avalanches's video for "Because I'm Me" below.

In other music news, Lil Uzi Vert has shared a wild, anime-inspired music video for his 2016 single "Ps & Qs." Listen to it right here.
