Syd has released her first-ever solo project, entitled Fin. The album plays out in typical Syd style, oozing with her sultry vocals, downtempo-yet-booming beats, and a solitary feature from rising R&B artist 6LACK on “Over.” Stream it below.

The Internet starlet worked with producers Melo-X, Rakhi, Hit-Boy and fellow Internet member Steve Lacy on Fin, but she had the final say on all the beats used. She's also, of course, responsible for the album's candid lyricism, where her raspy drawls compliment the low-slung production for an excellent solo debut from the 24-year-old. The album is the second solo-release from The Internet affiliates this year, after Matt Martians dropped his The Drum Chord Theory project last week.

Fin, for Syd, is “...not that deep.” Speaking to The FADER, she said, “For me, this is like an in-between thing — maybe get a song on the radio, maybe make some money, have some new shit to perform.”

In other music news, Big Sean and Sampha also dropped their new albums today.
