The Etch Clock uses an entirely new technology to display time. Almost like in stone, the time gets etched into the upper surface of this new Swiss clock. The outcome is a device that almost looks like a sculpture, on which the etching disappears and refreshes itself every minute. How smooth that process looks, you can see in the below video.

Of course the clock is not made of stone, but rather uses an elastic membrane that allows for this new type of effect for a clock. While the effect looks simple, it is pretty cool and will for sure make heads turn at your place. Of course this also has its price. The Etch Clock is arriving now with retailers, including colette, priced at $1,300.
