The grand unveiling of Kanye West’s seasonal YEEZY collection is one of the biggest events in the streetwear and fashion calendar — it’s up there with Supreme drop day in levels of hype. Aside from the mega-celebrities in attendance, they’re also a huge signifier of the way streetwear will be going over the next few months: judging from Kanye’s fifth collection, we’ll be seeing lots of gritty Americana and nu-Normcore on the streets in 2017.
Naturally, Highsnobiety‘s editorial team were quick to discuss the finer points and significance of the show, so with that in mind I hit up a few colleagues from Highsnobiety New York — Nico Amarca and Greg Babcock — to see what their thoughts were on Kanye’s latest opus.
Rather than spending ages typing up word-perfect critiques, we decided to just get straight down to business and chat on the program we use to communicate throughout the day, Slack.
See below for some screenshots of our conversation — with a late entry from Jian DeLeon, who was actually on a visit to Nike’s HQ in Portland.

Highsnobiety‘s Editor-at-Large, Jian DeLeon, was away on a trip to the Nike HQ in Portland, but couldn’t resist joining in the fun, so sent in a fashion critique of War & Peace epic-ness after the rest of us had gone back to work.
