Many turn to the dancefloor for a salvation of some kind, be it spiritual or physical or a combination of both. But in "Kryptonite," the video for George Maple's first juggernaut single of 2017, reminds us of another of its essential traits: its ability to instill and preserve community. Check out the visual's world premiere below.

Filmed by director Lisa Paclet, "Kryptonite" was filmed entirely in Kiev with a cast of 50 Ukrainians cast on the street. It features all of them crammed into a rave more idyllic than your wildest dreams, solidifying Maple's status as a new ascendant to the throne of being the ultimate club queen.

Speaking about the track, Maple said that “This song for me was about letting go, falling in love with life beyond what I could control. I was partying again, having fun, dancing, connecting with new people and having new experiences. I wanted the video to capture this energy.

I wanted the video to feel a little ridiculous, confronting and most of all, fun. I was inspired by a lot of the greats, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, George Michael, Janet Jackson. I feel they always tended to capture this kind of warmth with all they created. It was not about selling, it was about inspiring community and expression. "

Stay tuned for info on George Maple's upcoming debut album. Revisit her most recent single from last year, "Lover," below via Spotify.
