If, for some inexplicable reason, you are yet to check out The Wire, then HBO’s new trailer might just convince you to finally give it a try.
Viewed by many (but not Highsnobiety features editor, Alec Banks) as the GOAT, David Simon’s series explores the gritty underbelly of life in Baltimore while using allegory to flag wider issues such as systemic racism and the decay of the American Dream. Each season focuses on a different facet of the city and its people, including the illegal drug trade, the seaport system, the city government and bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media.
The new trailer is wide-ranging, including clips from a number of the show’s seasons. Check it out above, and watch the show in its entirely on HBO Now.
Other shows already featured on HBO Now include Game of Thrones, Veep, Silicon Valley, and Westworld. You can enjoy a free trial here, or subscribe for $14.99 per month.
