At a festival set over the weekend, James Murphy finally hinted at news we have been waiting to hear for a year and a half: that LCD Soundsystem were finished with their new album. Fortunately for us, it seems he wasn't kidding; Murphy has confirmed in a Facebook post that the record is indeed completely done, and it could be here as soon as six weeks from now. Read his post below.

"Sorry it took so long, honestly," he writes, before adding "I didn't think it would, but I, once again, underestimated the distractions inherent in touring and living a 'life.'" The band has been teasing their surprise follow-up to 2010's This Is Happening since the beginning of last year, but only recently (with the excellent singles "Call the Police" and "American Dream") has there been any concrete proof of new work.

Stay tuned for an official release date. Revisit their debut SNL performance from earlier this month below.

In related music news, 2 Chainz has put the finishing touches on his own latest full-length, and released a single with Travis Scott to boot! Get the scoop right here.
