Magnolia Pictures' Magnet Releasing gives us a glimpse at its new picture, Blade of the Immortal, based on the manga by Hiroaki Samura.

The film centers around Samurai Manji, who now lives his life in Japan as a criminal after killing a number of both innocent and guilty individuals. Manji in turn finds himself cursed with immortality until he slays enough evil men.

Upon being commissioned to serve as a young girl's bodyguard, the samurai then commits to vengeance against those who brutally murdered her family.

Blade of the Immortal — which was first published as a manga in 1993 — is here directed by Takashi Miike and stars one of Japan's biggest actors in Takuya Kimura, playing alongside Hana Sugisaki, Sôta Fukushi, Ebizô Ichikawa, Min Tanaka and Tsutomu Yamazaki.

The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters November 3.
