While Matt Damon usually plays the big leading roles, a la the Bourne series, things take a different turn in this trailer for upcoming sci-fi comedy Downsizing. If you're wondering what that means, think of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids reimagined for an audience in 2017.

Directed by Alexander Payne and also starring Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau, and Kristen Wiig, the film is set in a time when scientists have discovered how to combat overpopulation by shrinking people down to a minuscule five inches.

Where the plot thickens is when the leading couple, played by Damon and Wiig, decide to undergo the procedure so their savings will go further – meaning they'd be able to afford a more lavish lifestyle than if they remain regular human sized. Expect a few awwww moments in this one.

Downsizing hits theaters this December.

Next up, James Franco perfectly parodies Tommy Wiseau in the The Disaster Artist trailer.
