Jeremy Scott
On Art and Adidas
Tradeshows tend to be standard fair. What we mean is that you know the expected lineup of players and brands well before attending which gives you a guide sheet of sorts in determining what brands and apparel to cover. For Highsnobiety and our other sites like Selectism, and Highsnobette, tradeshows mean a whirlwind two to three days worth of hunting for the next new thing.
But occasionally opportunity knocks at moments unexpected. We received word from Adidas that US designer, Jeremy Scott would be attending and available for interviews. Like all good interviews we came under prepared and went with an off the cuff approach lead by Selectism's own London boy, Jason Dike, who in true journalists preparation, brought with him a slight hang over. But that approach is what made sitting down with Jeremy Scott a dynamic one. Scott, who is best known for his risk, does not consider his work underground, as you will soon read. If anything, he hopes that his styles wake up the world a bit, which it clearly has if you are paying attention to current pop music. I'll let Jason take it from here.... Introduction by Jeff Carvalho. Interview by Jason Dike. |
