The Old NY Way

Tailor Made in New York City

Whoodini Hats and Raekwon Jackets

Fashion has always played an important role in Sullivan’s life. Growing up, he always noticed the hustlers around him and their custom clothing. From hats, to suits, to shoes, he was intrigued by what he saw, and he never shied from asking about them. His first encounter with bespoke hip-hop garments was through a friend’s father, who was charged with creating hats for Whoodini. Being a larger guy himself, Sullivan discovered during his teen years that custom was method by which he could stay fresh and find clothes to fit properly. He hit Fordam Road in the Bronx for leathers.

Now, he makes them.

Not only that, but he makes them for some of the biggest names in rap. A recent photoshoot at Gabriel Urist’s studio in Brooklyn features none other than Raekwon dressed in custom leather from The Old New York Way. It is both throwback and contemporary. A nod to doing things by tradition - hard work, trained skills, and built reputations.

These are exclusive garments made individually for each customer. A true version of exclusivity. A single tailor catering to the needs of a discerning clientele.

The Old New York Way introduces itself in full this August. Tailored clothing from New York. The new school bespoke.
