It was a week or so before Christmas Day when the snow started pounding Vermont - a sure sign that a weekday ride was necessary to take advantage of those powder conditions on the East Coast. It was on this day trip to Killington that my fellow riders informed me of a new all natural terrain and freestyle park being assembled on Bear Mountain - a once unpopular area at the Killington Resort. The new terrain park at Killington is the latest addition to
Burton's growing list of
The Stash all natural terrain parks being developed across the globe.
We made the trek over to Bear Mountain to view the new Stash and quickly discovered two things - the first being that the old slow chairlift had been replaced by the new Skye Peak Express Quad which shaved more than ten minutes off the old lift time, and second The Stash was not opened yet.
But just weeks later, Burton invited Highsnobiety and a handful of others back to Killington to ride and experience the modern day Stash for ourselves - with the help of Dave Downing, Yale Cousino and brothers Hans and Nils Mindnich.
We spoke with Burton's Global Resort Manager, Jeff Boliba on the new Stash Park at Killington, and the future of terrain and freestyle parks. As he put it best, "It's all about having fun."
