Foot Locker launches its third collection of the exclusive cooperation with Nike: “Magnificent 7” is a collaboration that introduces seven classical Nike styles every season, each revolving around a certain theme that is brought to life in various designs. The current “Beijing” collection is inspired by the Olympic Games and its most prominent venue, the “bird's nest” stadium in Beijing.  Once again the sneakers are available as a limited edition and exclusively sold at Foot Locker.

For the “Nike Magnificent 7” collection the seven classic Nike models Air Max 1, Air Max BW, Air Max 95, Air Max 97, Air Max Ltd 2, Shox R4, Shox NZ and Nike Air Max 90 are relased in various new designs that are exclusive to Foot Locker. Diverse style elements, materials and colours revive the classics and create unique pairs that will quicken the pulse of any true sneaker connoisseur. Nike Air Max 90, with its successful sole technology that features the visible “Air Pad” in the heal area, is the most renowned and most popular shoe. The AM 90 was also the core feature of the first “Nike Magnificent 7” collection, that dropped in March 2008.  Street artist Jon Burgerman’s collection, which carried his name, was inspired by the Venus flytrap. The appeal of the plant to insects was applied to the shoes through the use of abstract fly illustrations.

In the month of May, simultaneous to the beginning of summer, the second edition was launched under the motto “Miami South Beach”. The retro design with its flashy neon colors and distinct color patterns is reminiscent of sunsets in Florida and reflects the “Miami Vice” style of the 80s. The Air Max 87 is characteristic for this time. It’s kept simple with its grey colour scale but appears full of contrast thanks to the pink – orange sole and side elements.  Due to the breathable sole these Nike sneakers became the perfect summer sneaker.

Consistent with the Olympic Games in Beijing the “Nike Magnificent 7 Beijing” collection was inspired in their colours and style elements by the host country  China. The intense colours are reflected in the lining of each style, as well as in the sneakers’ sole. This time the inspiration came from Beijing’s main Olympic venue that is nicknamed the “bird's nest” due to its web like steal structure. The complex and innovative construction is reflected as an illustration on each sneaker. Consistent with this idea, the stadium, designed by Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron and key motif of this edition, stands for much more than an ordinary sports venue. One says that China has scored an aesthetic triumph with this heroic landmark. This effect is shared by the shoe - it is eye catching and one of a kind, just like the “bird's nest”. This sneaker will make its wearer feel predestined for triumph - it is a shoe for winners.

The styles of the “Nike Magnificent 7 Beijing” collection cost between 120 EUR and 200 EUR and are exclusively available at Foot Locker.
