Sugarcane is always impressing us all over again. Every denim is made with high precision, attention to detail and even reason for detail. In this case there are historical reasons, why this new pair is not only high quality but so special. Listen to the incredible story behind the Union Star Denim.
In 1965 the American Military commisioned Toyo Enterprises (Sugarcane’s parent company) to make a limited run of jeans for the American Military that was living in Japan during the Mid-60’s. The star design seen on the pockets are to represent the American Flag, the buttons are made from forged Iron, the denim is Japanese Selvedge made from Zimbabwe cotton, and these sport a deer skin patch. These are reissues of those same jeans given to the military in 1965. Once again the best in terms of cut, construction, and denim from Sugarcane. This is the first new Sugarcane denim model in over a year, the worldwide release of these jeans is at Self Edge on January 6.
