G1 Flight Jacket

Flight jackets are as much a part of American heritage as apple pie. Cockpit stays true to a gritty, manly man aesthetic and is renowned for producing authentic flight jackets – yes for you and you and you and for the US military too.  Their modernized version of the G-1 jacket is the epitome of cool – it offers a rugged and sophisticated look (unlike your lumberjack shirt, unfortunately).  The G-1 style was first introduced in the late 1930’s as the official flight jacket of the US Navy and Marine Corp flyers.  Cockpit’s version includes all the essential details that made the original so cool in the first place – vintage goat skin, painstakingly rendered embroidered insignias reproduced from the WW2 era, double gussets under each arm for ease of movement in small spaces (like plane cockpits or for swimming (!!) if necessary), and a plush Merino lamb mouton fur collar for warmth.  The G-1 is a staple item designed throughout American history for one kind of guy – touch and courageous.
