HighSnobiety Fall/Winter 07/08 Preview

Since trends go more and more in the direction of high fashion mixing with streetwear and streetwear brands getting more sophisticated over time, we thought it was interesting to have a look at the Runway shows for Fall/Winter 07/08.
We had a look at some brands that we always watch: Number (N)ine, Comme des Garcons, Junya Watanabe, Yamamoto, Viktor & Rolf, Vivienne Westwood and some more. A few months ago we came across a nice quote of Coco Chanel, where she says that fashion comes from the street and inspires high end fashion until it makes its way back down to the street into the mainstream.
That said, we wanted to have a look at the high fashion brands that get inspired by streetwear or that inspire streetwear – sometimes in an obvious way and other times you only realize the connection much later. Maybe there is in most cases not connection.
