Goodenough UK – The Archives

Hideout has launched today the first part of the Goodenough UK Archives.
“A pioneer of the all-over print technique, the UK outpost of Japanese label GOODENOUGH has been producing their characteristic brand of pop graphic t-shirts since 1994. Recently the brand has ventured into other areas, resulting in collaborative bags with Masterpiece and mini-sized styles for kids. It seemed an appropriate time to put together an archive of GOODENOUGH UK over the years – Part 1 is of their signature all-over prints.”
It’s great that they put out something like this, as we are now in a time where we see all-over prints everywhere. When Goodenough UK started putting these out there, they were true pioneers. Today we are oversaturated. By looking at their all-over prints one can also clearly see for what purpose an all-over print can be used in a meaningful way and actually becomes a good design, rather then forcing it on any design. More than 10 years after Goodenough UK started working like this, we see it moving more and more into mainstream. Only now one can actually realize what innovative work this brand has put out at that time already.
